Research Interests & Collaborators

I study addiction and other types of behaviors that have a negative impact on health. Much of my work focuses on cigarette smoking which remains one of the leading preventable causes of death in the world. I use an interdisciplinary approach that combines theory and methods from psychology, neuroscience, and field research. I am collaborating with Michael Russell on a project aimed at developing a novel nonverbal approach to measuring craving in functional brain imaging studies.
